Toasty Hazelnut Pie A special treat--hazelnuts baked in a rich coffee flavored syrup and a flaky pastry shell. Ingredients: 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 cup dark Karo syrup 1/3 teaspoon salt 4 Tablespoons melted butter 3 eggs, unbeaten 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee 1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell1 cup hazelnuts, lightly toasted and chopped Method Combine syrup,
sugar, salt, eggs, butter, vanilla and coffee. Mix well, add nuts. Pour
into pie shell. Bake in a 350 degree F preheated oven for 50 minutes or
until set. Number of servings: 6-8 |
